Rockford man, former Mr. Universe, sentenced to 16 years in prison for child, domestic abuse

61-year-old Jefferey Primm was sentenced to 16 years in prison Tuesday for aggravated child battery and aggravated domestic battery.

The incident in question occurred in August of 2015, when Rockford Police Detectives investigated Primm after a victim came forward and issued multiple complaints of abuse toward both her and two children as well, dating back as far as 2013.

Primm pled guilty in court on Tuesday and was sentenced to 16 years, plus mandatory supervised release for four subsequent years, after his release.

Primm, the 1999 Mr. Universe, holds 7 titles in bodybuilding, including titles of Mr. Illinois, Mr. World, Mr. USA and Mr. America.

Primm operates the Primm and Proper Gym at 6122 Mulford Village Drive.
