Rockford man found guilty of being an Armed Habitual Criminal

Romeo Trammell was found guilty Wednesday of being an Armed Habitual Criminal by a Winnebago County Judge.

Trammell, 30, was arrested in the 3000 block of Cannon Street on June 2nd, 2018 after police had issued a parole violation warrant for his arrest. When police approached him, he fled. They located a stolen semi-automatic handgun in his car.

Trammell already had felony convictions from 2008 and 2012 and was not allowed to legally possess firearms.

His sentencing is scheduled for November 7th.
