Rockford man sentenced to 150 months in prison for robbing U.S. Cellular store

McKinley Hoarde III, 23, of Rockford, was sentenced to serve 150 months in federal prison on Friday, for the robbery of a U.S. Cellular store in 2016.

Hoarde III and Ricky Woods, 22, also of Rockford, were convicted of holding up the U.S Cellular store at 6430 E. State Street on June 1st, 2016.

There, they forced a store employee to the back of the store at gunpoint, where they forced the employee to the ground before robbing cell phones and electrical equipment from the wall, in an attempt to disable the store’s security system.

Hoarde III was sentenced to 66 months for the robbery, and 84 months for using a firearm during a crime of violence.

Woods is facing a maximum sentence of 20 years for his involvement. His sentencing is set for December 12th.
