Jesse G. Owen, 36, was sentenced to 18 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for drug trafficking and weapons charges.

The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office said Owens was arrested in January of 2017 after he delivered 28 grams of cocaine to an individual at a parking lot in the 6900 block of Argus Drive.

Police arrested him shortly after during a traffic stop on West State Street and Horace Avenue, during which he was in possession of a handgun.

In February, Owens was arrested again for selling 55.7 grams of cocaine.

In addition to his 18 year sentence, Owens was given mandatory supervised release for 3 years following his release.
