ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — 42-year-old Marcus Lee Williams was sentenced to 24 years on Friday for sexually assaulting a child.

Rockford Police say they launched an investigation into Williams in June of 2018 after they received a complaint that a child had been sexually assaulted.

He pled guilty to the charge in Winnebago County Court and was sentenced by Judge Debra Schafer.
