A 21-year-old man is recovering after being shot in the shoulder.
Rockford Police say it happened Monday evening. They were called to a local hospital at around 7:50pm to meet with a shooting victim who had arrived at the emergency room.
He stated that he was walking in the 2300 block of Forest View when he was approached by two black men, both armed, and one began shooting at him. He was hit once as he attempted to run away through a yard, and was able to flee to Harrison Avenue, where he was able to flag down a driver who took him to the hospital.
The victim could not provide a motive for why he was targeted, but did provide the following descriptions.
Suspect #1: Black male, younger. Brown coat with black hoodie underneath
Suspect #2: Black male, younger, dark colored clothing
He was then treated and released.
