A Rockford man who attempted to get a large amount of cocaine delivered to his home through the mail has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.

59-year-old Charles Scott was sentenced for Possession of Cocaine with in to Deliver 100-400 grams of cocaine.

Scott was convicted in July after an investigation by the U.S. Postal Inspector’s office and Rockford Narcotics Detectives.  They had found a suspicious package being mailed to 1104 Cedar Street from an address in Mesa, AZ, and after executing a search warrant, found a large amount of cocaine inside.

The package was delivered by an undercover Postal Inspector, where Scott signed for it.  He was the only person living at the address, and after another search warrant was issued, the package was found in his possession.
