Time Magazine has included Rockford native Virgil Abloh as one of their top 100 most influential people in the world in 2018.
Time describes the recognition as an annual list of pioneers, titans, artists and icons across the globe.
Abloh is featured alongside some impressive names, including actress Nicole Kidman, comedian Roseanne Barr, director Guillermo Del Toro and President Donald Trump, among many others.
It’s been a big 2018 for the Rockford native; in March, Abloh was named artistic director of menswear at Louis Vuitton, becoming the retail company’s first black artistic director. He’s a longtime creative director for Chicago native Kanye West.
Abloh, 37, is a 1998 graduate of Boylan High School.
