The Rockford Park District says that it is increasing golf fees and membership rates for 2019, based on a 10 year decline in revenue.
The proposed fee restructuring was shared at a November 19th board meeting.
Laura Gibbs Green, Public Relations Manager for the Rockford Park District, said in a statement, “Without new revenue streams or reducing our footprint, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to provide the same level of service – this is why we need our golf community’s involvement. During recent golf community engagement sessions we asked hundreds of people in attendance to provide ideas regarding ways to decrease operational expenses, increase revenue, or provide more support to our golf courses and programs. Over and over we heard that we should increase fees as our courses are very affordable and the quality remains high.”
The Park District fees across all five golf courses were tweaked. Sinnissippi’s daily fee went up $3 over 2018’s price of $10.
