Rockford Police Busy With A String of Armed Robberies

A string of armed robberies kept Rockford Police busy overnight.

A little after one this morning, a man was pumping gas at the FasMart on 11th Street near Sandy Hollow Road, when two men approached him with a gun. The victim ran away. The armed suspect was wearing a mask, and the other had on a red hooded sweatshirt.

Just a couple hours earlier, a pizza delivery driver is robbed while at the door delivering food in the 1700 block of Remington, near Alpine. Two armed suspects approached him from behind demanding money. The suspects fled with the pizza and money in a silver 4-door vehicle.

Around 10:30 last night a man was robbed while sitting on his front porch on south 5th Street. The victim says a 4-door silver car with five people in it, stopped in front of his home. Two of the occupants exited the vehicle approached him, grabbed his arm, shoved a gun into his stomach and demanded property. The suspects took the victim’s belonging’s and fled northbound on 5th Street.

Fortunately, no one was hurt in any of these incidents. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
