Rockford Police investigate a pair of shootings in the city.
The first one happened just before 7:30pm Monday. Police were called to the 2300 block of 23rd Street for multiple reports of shots fired. Officers found several shell casings in the street. Two houses and a garage were hit. Witnesses told police they saw a silver or black car drive away from the scene northbound. No one was hurt.
About 45 minutes later, a drive-by shooting in the 1400 block of Gorham Place, that’s just a few blocks west of Holy Family church. We’re told the victim took themselves to a local hospital after being shot in the leg. The injury is not considered to be life threatening.
Police haven’t identified any suspects in either shooting.
