Rockford Police are searching for suspects after two armed robberies Friday evening.

The first happened in the area of 22nd St. and 9th Ave. around 7:15. The victim told police he was walking home when a light colored mini-van pulled up and two black males got out and approached him. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun and struck the victim in the head taking several items from him and then fleeing.

Then just under an hour later at about 7:50, police say they met with two male victims in the 2200 block of Eastgate Parkway. The victims told them a silver Chevy, possibly a Malibu, drove by several times before stopping. Two men then got out one armed with a handgun. The victims say they demanded property from them, took it, and then left.

No arrests have been made in either robbery. Anyone with information is urged to call police or Crimestoppers
