A Rockford man has been arrested following a car-to-car shooting; additional suspects are still on the loose.

Police say shortly before 11 p.m. officers on patrol in the 3100 block of Rockwell Avenue heard gunfire and witnessed a black car and a gold car shooting at each other.

The vehicles fled, each in different directions. Officers pursued, but lost the gold car, which was found a short time later, unoccupied, in the 800 block of Garfield Avenue.

The black car was later stopped in the 2300 block of Kilburn Avenue. There were two occupants in the car, but no weapon was recovered.

The driver, 35-year-old Rashod Partee, of Rockford, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Fleeing to Elude a Police Officer, and Reckless Driving.

Partee was taken to the Winnebago County Jail.
