Rockford police release statistics citing crime is down compared to 2017

News

The Rockford Police Department released it’s Rockstat numbers on Wednesday that showed crime is down across the city, compared to the same time last year.

That includes violent crimes, down 15% from the first seven months of 2017; robberies are down 21%, and shots-fired calls are down 24%.

Property crimes and auto thefts were up, 5% and 14%, respectively.
