Rockford Police Search for Armed Robber After Gas Station Held Up

On Saturday, at approximately 9:15 p.m., officers responded to a hold up alarm at Mobil Gas Station, 4432 Auburn Street. 

While en-route, police learned the business was robbed.  The clerk was inside of the business waiting on a customer when the suspect ran inside the front doors.  The door to the cashier area was opened at the time and the suspect ran inside and held the victim at gunpoint.  The suspect took off with the money.  He fled the store south on Day Avenue.  No one was injured.

The suspect is described as a black male, between 18-20 years old, 5’7″ tall, Black shirt, Jeans, light color netting covering face and camo baseball hat. He was armed with a handgun.
