Rockford police search for suspect in Tuesday morning hit-and-run

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police are searching for a white male in his 40’s who was involved in a hit and run crash early Tuesday morning. A woman was hospitalized following the collision.

Police say the incident happened at around 9 a.m. in the area of 11th Street and 6th Avenue.

On scene officers reported that a black SUV was headed westbound on 6th Avenue when it was hit by a silver car on 11th Street. The SUV rolled over and the 36-year-old female driver was injured.

The male driver of the silver car got out of the car and ran away on foot, police say. He is described as a white male in his 40’s with short hair.
