Rockford Police travel to D.C. to honor fallen members


Members of the Rockford law enforcement traveled to the nation’s capitol as part of National Police Week. 

Four officers from the Rockford Police Department are participating in several events in Washington D.C. to honor fallen members and provide support for surviving family members. 

More than 300 names have been added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, which was mentioned at a candlelight vigil Monday night. Among those named are Illinois State Trooper Brooke Jones-Story and McHenry County Sheriff’s Deputy Jacob Keltner. 

National Police Week runs through Saturday.
