When it comes to using their smartphones, an analysis by ‘RootMetrics’ found that residents in the Rockford area are seeing some of the best performance in the country. The Forest City finished 5th overall in their analysis of six performance criteria of mobile networks.
They were Overall Performance, Network Reliability, Network Speed, Data Performance, Call Performance, and Text Performance.
The top 5 metro areas in the rankings were as follows:
1) Atlanta, GA (pop. 4.94M)
2) Chicago, IL (pop. 8.60M)
3) Indianapolis, IN (pop. 1.49M)
4) Sacramento, CA (pop. 1.72M)
5) Rockford, IL (pop. 296,863)
Rockford had an average overall score of 97.9, and it should be noted that no city scored below a 90, an indication of a robust mobile infrastructure from coast to coast. Atlanta’s winning score was 98.2.
