A local man is nearly a quarter of million dollars richer, after matching five Illinois lottery numbers more than five months ago.
Dennis Bragelman, a lifelong Rockford resident, hit the August 27th Lucky Day Lotto jackpot, winning him $225,000. He discovered his win the day after the drawing, but having a full year to claim the money, didn’t do so until Tuesday.
Bragelman plans to use the money to buy his wife a new car.
He bought his winning ticket at 320 Store at 320 N. Court Street in Rockford. The retailer receives a bonus of $2,250, 1% of the prize amount, for selling the ticket.
Lucky Day Lotto’s jackpot is a $550,000 prize. Bragelman split his winnings with another winning ticket sold to a Morris resident for that same evening’s drawing.
