A final vote on a plan to build two new schools in District 205 is put on hold Tuesday night.

The Rockford School Board was expected to vote on the facilities plan that would give the green light for construction on two new elementary schools.

Superintendent Dr. Ehren Jarrett urged the board to approve it, saying it’s something the community supports and it would be best for students. After some board members expressed cost concerns, the board voted to table the matter until a special board meeting next week .
