A Rockford school is one of the least protected against measles in Illinois, a new study shows.

According to state data collected by WBEZ, Montessori Private Academy, at 8101 Sayer Road, is one of the least compliant when it comes to students with vaccinations, with only 59.28% of its student body being immunized against the disease.

The data shows 78 students of the 194 enrolled at Montessori are non-compliant in their immunization requirement, with no documentation of vaccination, medical waiver, or religious exemption.

Only 9% of schools in Illinois have 100 percent of their students vaccinated against the measles.

All school children in Illinois are required to have either a vaccination or an excemption, but the report shows 514 schools in which less than 95 percent of students are compliant with proof of vaccination.

CDC reported on Wednesday that 78 new measles cases have been reported nationwide since last week.
