A Rockford congregation stands in solidarity with those affected by the shooting at a Pittsburgh Synagogue.
The Rockford Temple Beth-El Synagogue held a vigil Sunday evening. The temple was filled from wall to wall as the community came together. Despite different religious backgrounds, words of prayer brought them together. Local leaders attended the vigil and shared some words against violent crimes.
Swedar Baba Ji, an attendee says he hopes the united effort brings change and fear doesn’t impact places of worship. “When they’re worshipping in the worship place, they shouldn’t [be] afraid without thinking it could happen to them,” said Ji. “They should be free mind in their worship place.”
