The Rockford Education Association reaches a tentative agreement on a new contract with the district.
The union, made up of roughly 2,000 teachers and health staff, ratified the terms of a new three year contract. Details of the contract haven’t been released, but the union says it’ll receive pay raises. In exchange, insurance costs will go up.
This comes after months of negotiations. The union previously rejected two offers from the district, saying the pay raises were not enough.
School administrators didn’t comment on the agreement or negotiations.
