Rockford Police arrested 19-year-old Paeryese Carter following a strong armed robbery that occurred on Friday night.

Police say they were called to the 1900 block of West Pearl Avenue where they met with an 18-year-old victim who had arranged to buy an electronic item which was posted online, outside of his house.

During the transaction, the male suspect, later identified as 19-year-old Paeryese Carter, hit him, took his money, and fled in a white car.

Officers from the Rockford Police Department stopped the suspect vehicle a short time later and arrested Carter and his female companion.

The girl was released without charges. Carter was charged with Strong Armed Robbery and Aggravated Battery. He was also wanted on three unrelated warrants.
