The Rockford University Board of Trustees announced Monday morning that Dr. Eric Fulcomer will succeed Dr. Robert Head as President of Rockford University. Head announced last year he would be retiring effective June 30th.
Fulcomer was confirmed with a unanimous vote by the university’s Board of Trustees on Saturday.
Dr. Fulcomer has been at Rockford University for three years serving as the Vice President for Enrollment Management.
Fulcomer has a somewhat unique background, having served as both an educational and an elected official. Board of Trustees Vice Chair and the Presidential Search Committee Chair James W. Keeling said in a news release, “… Eric has the unique experience of having served as an elected official for 11 years in his former community, as alderman, council president and mayor.” Dr. Fulcomer served as mayor of Bluffton, OH.
University officials say Dr. Fulcomer received his doctorate in Higher Education Administration from the University of Toledo, his master’s degree in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University and his bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature, cum laude, from Eastern Michigan University.
His first day as Rockford University President will be July 1st.
