A Roscoe man was injured in an accident involving two semi-trucks on US 20 on Tuesday.

The Illinois State Police say around 11:07 a.m., a 2014 Freightliner truck pulling a semi trailer west, near Mt. Hope Road, lost control and jack-knifed, hitting a 1998 Kenworth drvien by Jeremy Harweck, 37, of Roscoe.

Harweck attempted to avoid being hit but was struck by the still moving semi trailer.

Both Harweck and the driver of the Freightliner, 59-year-old Rory Bardell, of Pearl City, suffered minor injuries.

US Route 20 was shut down for several hours as officers investigated the crash. No citations have been issued at this time, police say, but the crash remains under investigation.
