Roscoe Veterans Honor Those Who Served in Pearl Harbor

On the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor… Roscoe veterans remember those who died.

Today marks 76 years since the Japanese surprise attack against the U.S. naval base during World War II.  Local veterans performed rifle volleys and taps at 11:58 on the dot–the exact time the attack occurred.  Vietnam veteran Bill Graves says while many world war 2 veterans are no longer here, it’s important to remember how their sacrifices still impact our freedom today.

Graves said, “Freedom, as we know it today, we wouldn’t have what we have today without what they did back in 1941 in World War II.

Graves also said celebrating anniversaries like this one is especially important to him, since many of his family members fought on the frontlines during World War II.
