Rotary Club Donates To Schools/Non-Profits

A Stateline community service group gives a financial boost to a few local school and non-profits.

The Rockford East-Cherry Valley Rotary Club held a check presentation Tuesday morning at the Machine Shed Restaurant.  It donated $15,000.  All of it was raised from a fundraiser lunch the club recently held.  The YMCA and K-Cancer Baseball received about $5,000 each.  The Rotary Club says they’re happy to help out.

“These organizations that we’ve been giving money to need community support,” said Rotary Club President Robert McConnell.  “They need individuals and servicees organizations like our own to make it.”

The other recipients are Rock Valley College, Rockford University, the Rockford Art Museum, and Rockford Youth for Christ.
