Routine Traffic Stop Turns into Chase Through DeKalb County

News

A routine traffic stop ends in a police pursuit through DeKalb County.

The Sheriff’s Department says a deputy pulled over a truck on State Route 30 just west of Route 23 around 8:30 Friday night. As the deputy was speaking to the driver, the driver took off. Police say he reached speeds of over 90 miles per hour at times.

Eventually police were able to deploy stop sticks on the east side of Shabbona. The vehicle was found in an alley but the driver fled on foot.

Police say the driver’s ID named him as 30-year-old Jeremy Henry from Mendota. Charges are pending.
