Saturday Afternoon Flood Warning Update

Heavy rains fell across the area on Friday Evening and Friday Night, and some more rain showers are continuing to make their way through the area. In fact, several places around the area reported 24-hour rain fall totals up to 3 inches, especially in Winnebago and McHenry County. The following is a partial list of area rivers and locations that will be reaching flood stage between 6-12 October 2018. MINOR FLOOD STAGE

Rock River at Dixon, IL is currently below flood stage with a water height of 14.6 feet. The water is expected to rise to 17.2 feet (Minor Flood Stage) by Monday Night and remain at Minor Flood Stage through the work week.

Kishwaukee River at Perryville, IL is currently below flood stage with a water height of 10.4 feet. The water is expected to rise to 12.3 feet (Minor Flood Stage) by Monday Night and drop below Minor Flood Stage by Wednesday.

Turtle Creek at Beloit, WI is currently below flood stage with a water height of 7.2 feet. The water is expected to rise to 8.5 feet (Minor Flood Stage) by Sunday Afternoon and then drop below Minor Flood Stage by Monday Afternoon.

Turtle Creek at Clinton, WI is currently at Minor Flood Stage with a water height of 8.5 feet. The river will remain at this level through Sunday Morning before dropping below Minor Flood Stage by Sunday Night.

Sugar River at Brodhead, WI is currently at Minor Flood Stage with a water height of 6.5 feet. The water is expected to rise to 7.6 feet (Minor Flood Stage) by Tuesday before dropping below Minor Flood Stage by Friday Morning.

MODERATE FLOOD STAGE

Rock River at Afton, WI is currently at Minor Flood Stage with a water height of 10.5 feet. The water is expected to rise to 11.6 feet (Moderate Flood Stage) by Wednesday and remain at Moderate Flood Stage through the work week.

Rock River at Rockton, IL is currently at Moderate Flood Stage with a water height of 11.8 feet. The water is expected to rise to 13.9 feet (Moderate Flood Stage) by Tuesday Afternoon. The level needed for Major Flood Stage is 14.0 feet.

Rock River at Latham Park, IL is currently at Minor Flood Stage with a water height of 10.9 feet. The water is expected to rise to 13.9 feet (Moderate Flood Stage) by Tuesday and will remain at Moderate Flood Stage through the work week.

Rock River at Byron is currently at Moderate Flood Stage with a water height of 14.1 feet. The water is expected to rise to 15.8 feet (Moderate Flood Stage) by Monday Night and remain at Moderate Flood Stage through the work week. The level needed for Major Flood Stage is 16.0 feet.

Pecatonica River at Martintown, WI is currently at Moderate Flood Stage with a water height of 18.1 feet. The water is expected to rise to 19.2 feet (Moderate Flood Stage) by Monday Afternoon and will remain at Moderate Flood Stage through Wednesday.

Pecatonica River at Freeport, IL is currently at Moderate Flood Stage with a water height of 14.5 feet. The water is expected to rise to 15.6 feet (Moderate Flood Stage) by Tuesday Afternoon and remain at Moderate Flood Stage through the work week.

Pecatonica River at Shirland, IL is currently at Moderate Flood Stage with a water height of 14.8 feet. The water is expected to rise to 15.3 feet (Moderate Flood Stage) by Tuesday Afternoon and remain at Moderate Flood Stage through the work week. The level needed for Major Flood Stage is 15.5 feet.

MAJOR FLOOD STAGE

At this time, there are several rivers that will come close to Major Flood Stage, but at this time non are expected to reach this category.
