School bus driver alerts fire department to house fire

The Rockford Fire Department put out a house fire early Tuesday morning on Magnolia Street.

The call came in at around 8:30 a.m. from a passing school bus driver. Firefighters found smoke coming from the rear of the house, which was not occupied at the time.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire. The cause has not yet been determined. Damages are estimated to be $5,000.
