School Donates to Books for Babies Program

A group of Rockford students made a very generous donation.

Students from Saint James school dropped off more than 200 children’s books to Mercyhealth.  They’ll be used in the NICU.  Organizers say it’ll give parents the opportunity to connect with their baby during one of the toughest moments they’ll ever face.  Anne Herkert, an ICU Family Support Coordinator says, “To use their voice to talk to their baby, to read to their baby, not only provides support to their baby, but it also supports and empowers the parent in such a trial of a time for them.”

The donation is part of the Books for Babies program.
