Search Party for Missing Loves Park Woman, Emily Anderson

More than a month has passed in the case of Emily Anderson, a Loves Park woman who disappeared a month ago. Anderson’s family is still looking for answers and called for a search party in an effort to find clues to where she may be. This weekend, volunteers will scour the Stateline to find her.

“Everybody is helping me, where I feel like I’m falling short,” said Emily’s sister Caitlin Dull.

On Saturday and Sunday, Anderson’s family and community members will walk around searching for any traces of Emily. Her disappearance remains shrouded in mystery.

“We would really like to search the embankments of where she was last seen, which was at Steak ‘n Shake,” said Dull. “[We’ll] see if anything was thrown or scattered.”

The search party will consist of community members volunteering their time. During the search, Dull says if anything seems suspicious, they’ll contact the police to further investigate their findings. Volunteers will be asked to leave their names on a sign-in sheet in order for the family to individually thank them.

“The community coming together and supporting my family like they have [has] been amazing. I couldn’t ask for more,” said Dull.  “I won’t ever be able to thank everybody for their help.  My appreciation is beyond words.”

Dull says she’s appreciative for the all the support for what has been an emotional ordeal for her and her family.

“I’m trying to stay as strong and positive as I can, but it is really hard,” said Dull. “So, for everybody helping and supporting and going out and taking time out of their own days, it really means a lot. It means more than most people will ever understand.”

The search party will start Saturday and Sunday at noon at the Gordman’s Parking lot in Machesney Park. They plan to search for about an hour.
