Kickball players teamed up this afternoon to kick some balls- for men’s cancer.
Ten teams competed in the Second Annual Kicking Balls for Men’s Cancer kickball tournament.
Dozens of players and spectators showed up at Davis Park to enjoy live music, food, and games-all in the hopes of raising funds for men’s prostate cancer research.
WTVO was a sponsor-and we even some familiar faces competing for our team.
The founder of Brovember said it’s important that we know that all the money raised today goes right back into our community.
“All the money raised here stays here and the research is being done here,” said Dave Armstrong, the found of Brovember Inc. here in Rockford. “A lot of people in this community don’t know that the prostate cancer research is being done right here in their backyards.”
All the money raised goes to the Brovember endowment with the U of I College of Medicine Rockford.
Brovember also holds the “No Shave November” fundraiser in the fall.
