NEW YORK, N.Y. (WTVO) — Tennis pro Serena Williams wore bright yellow Nike sneakers designed by Rockford native Virgil Abloh to the 2019 Met Gala red carpet on Monday night.

Williams wore a bright yellow, floral Atelier Versace gown complimented by Abloh’s Volt Off White x Air Force 1 Nike sneakers.

Williams previously collaborated with Abloh on a special “Queen” collection, according to TIME.

TIME magazine named Abloh one of its top 100 most influential people in 2018, the same year he was named artistic director of menswear at Louis Vuitton.
