A Rockford event meant to kick off the holiday season saw record breaking attendance this year.
75,000 people turned out for Stroll on State. The Rockford Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau says that’s a 15% increase from last year. Organizers say the annual event is a great way to experience the holidays and build memories, while helping bring new customers and visitors downtown.
“After coming downtown they realize that it’s cleaner and safer,” said John Groh, President and CEO of the RACVB. “It has more to do, more restaurants, more shops than they knew about beforehand. And that is important.”
Groh says planning is already underway for Stroll on State 2017. It will be held November 25th.
