A local organization has stepped in to help high school students choose a career path.
Wednesday morning saw the seventh occurrence of Alignment Rockford’s Academy Expo, held at Mercyhealth Sportscore 2 on E. Riverside Boulevard, which gives freshmen a glimpse at multiple career options, everything from health services to firefighting, and even tattoo artistry.
Auburn student David Daye has been attending the expo for the past four years. He says it helps him focus on reaching his career goal.
“Teachers, they teach students, of course. Business people go to meetings. They build empires. But there’s a mindset that each of those people have to have, and [the expo] kind of helped be build that,” Daye said.
70 different companies and organizations participated in this year’s event.
