Students at Rock Valley College were able to meet future employers face to face on Wednesday, as RVC and Rockford University hosted a career and internship fair this afternoon.
One hundred and eighteen employers were there, representing everything from health care to manufacturing to retail jobs.
Organizers of the event say that job fairs are vital because they break the barrier of applying through a computer screen.
“We’re trying to give them an opportunity where they’ll get a personal introduction to companies who are looking to hire right now,” said Will Ashford, Dean of Student Success. “So, you don’t have to send a cold resume through the internet, you get to talk to someone that’s looking to hire, make that personal connection, which is important at these career fairs.”
If you missed Wednesday’s job fair, RVC and Rockford University will host another one in the Spring.
