Summerfield Zoo announces opening weekend date

Spring is finally here! That means the flowers are blooming and animals are coming out. Summerfield Zoo announced their opening weekend date for the 2019 season.

The zoo opens on Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, April 28th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Summerfield Zoo will welcome its new mascot, Bill the baby groundhog. There will be cougars, zebras, monkeys, hyenas, wolves, reindeer, lemurs and more. There will also be animal presentations, bottles for baby goats, pony rides, a snack shop and a petting zoo.

Adult tickets are $10, seniors are $8 and children are $6. There’s free parking. All proceeds go to the care of the animals. It is open rain or shine.
