Suspect Walks into Janesville Home, Demands Money & Drugs, Shoots Dog

Police are searching for a man they say entered a Janesville home and demanded drugs and cash.

It happened around 6:15 Tuesday night in the 200 block of S. Jackson Street. A resident there said a man entered their home armed with a handgun and demanded to see their safe and for money and marijuana.

During the encounter, the victim’s pit bull approached the suspect. He then shot the dog and fled the house.

He is described as a white male, 20 to 30 years old, pale skin by the eyes, 5’7” to 5’8”, slender build with blue eyes.

The dog was treated for the gunshot and is doing fine. Anyone with information on the incident should call Janesville Police at (608) 755-3100.
