Suspects Who Posed as Utility Workers to Rob Rockford Home Identified

Authorities have identified the two suspects accused of breaking into a Rockford home, and beating up a resident inside, while posing as utility workers last week.

On Thursday, Rockford Police identified and located Anthony Alexander, 47, of Rockford, as one of the two suspects. He was taken into custody and charged with home invasion.

Police identified the second suspect as Tyrone Jones, 39, also of Rockford. A warrant has been served for his arrest but he remains at large. Several other suspects also entered the home after Alexander and Jones gained entry, they have not been identified.

Anyone with information on Jones’s whereabouts, or on the other suspects, is asked to call Rockford Police.

The victim beaten during the home invasion suffered minor injuries. Two children inside at the time were not hurt.
