SWAT team sweeps Auburn Manor after 2 security guards attacked Monday night

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police say residents should avoid the area around the Auburn Manor apartments, at 4212 Auburn Street, as the SWAT team is on the scene, conducting a “security sweep” of the complex.

According to Rockford Police Lt. Kurt Whisenand, two private security officers were attacked by a group of five to seven suspects on Monday night, and Tuesday’s response is a security sweep of the complex aimed at providing security for the residents of Auburn Manor, as well as serving warrants on several individuals wanted for unrelated crimes.
