Swedish American and Mary Kay offer care packages to cancer patients

News

Swedish American Hospital and Mary Kay Cosmetics are teaming up to supply care packages to local cancer patients.

Mary Kay reps dropped off the packages earlier Wednesday at Swedish American’s Regional Cancer Center, at 3535 N Bell School Road.

The packages include lotion that can help heal dry and burned skin — which can be suffered by patients receiving radiation treatments — along with other items.

All of the items were donated by area residents.

“What we found is, everybody is effected by cancer, or touched by it in some way. So, it just has that special place in everybody’s heart, that they want to be able to do something,” said Tandy Fischer, Mary Kay Senior Cadillac Sales Director.

The “Pink Partnership” hopes to touch the more than 40 patients Swedish American sees every day for radiation treatment.
