A local hospital and non-profit announced the results of this year’s donation drive.
SwedishAmerican and Goodwill say more than 4,000 pounds of goods were donated. That includes clothes, household items, toys, shoes, jewelry and more.
Ben Bernsten, President of Goodwill in Northern Illinois, explains how this helps the non-profit.
“These 4,000 pounds of donations that we receive more or less equate to 4,000 dollars in programing revenue that we can then use to help the community again through our educational job training and job placement programs,” Bernsten said.
Organizers say this year had double the donations compared to 2018.
