SwedishAmerican announced it’ll open two new clinics in Rockford.
CEO Dr. Michael Born announced the hospital recently bought the land where they’ll be built. One will be on N. Main St. and the other will be on Bell School Rd. It’ll allow Swedes to consolidate some of its services. But, that means several others clinics will be closed.
“Some of these clinics will be relocations of existing clinics into new facilities,” said Born. “There’s a constant need for modernization. This was an opportunity for us to look at the distribution of the population, the demographics, and build a system which we believe best addresses the needs of the community.”
Born didn’t say which clinics would close. Construction is set to begin this winter. Both are scheduled to be completed in 2019.
