50-year-old Richard Janusz, of Sycamore, was sentenced to 101 years in prison Thursday for sexually assaulting a child and creating child pornography of the victim.

DeKalb County State’s Attorney Alicia Caplan presented evidence during the trial that Janusz sexually assaulted the victim and took multiple nude, sexually compromising photos of the victim, who was under 13 years old, multiple times between 2010 and 2014.

State’s Attorney Rick Amato said, “I am pleased with the efforts of so many people to bring justice to this victim. ASA Caplan, our Children’s Advocacy Center and the Sycamore Police Department did extraordinary work for this victim, for the victim’s family and for our community in holding this defendant accountable for his disgusting, despicable crimes against a child who should have been able to trust him. My thanks to all for their hard work.”
