Starlights Synchronized Skating teams hosting the Synchronized Skating Championships at the BMO today.
94 different teams taking the ice in the three-day competition. Skaters from every level ranging from 9 to 65-years-old. Tiana Austel says she’s been skating since she was just four-years-old and the experience is life changing.
“You see eachother at your very worst,” said Austel. “You see eachother after you have been competing really badly and your really upset with yourself. You also see eachother when it’s nationals or it’s internationals and you’ve really skated your best. That is something really special that has given me a lot of life skills that I don’t think I would’ve gotten if I wasn’t skating.”
