Saying there is no viable path to victory, Sen. Ted Cruz is suspending his Presidential campaign after a fifteen point defeat in the Indiana primary.
Cruz has suffered a series of losses to Republican front-runner Donald Trump, and Indiana, a state in which he needed to do well, was seen as a turning point in the Presidential campaign.
But Trump grew his lead over Cruz in the weeks leading up to the campaign, winning more than 50% of the electorate. Cruz finished just over the 35% mark while Gov. John Kasich finished a deep third with less than 10% of the vote. Kasich made no announcements regarding the status of his campaign.
Donald Trump is now the presumptive nominee of the Republican Party, avoiding what many saw as a potentially nasty contested convention in Cleveland.
