Teenager Arrested, Second Man Wanted for Armed Robbery of Elderly Man

Rockford Police are searching for a 22-year-old Rockford man accused in two separate armed robberies during the month of December.

The first happened on Monday, December 18 in the parking lot of the Mobil at 4432 Auburn Street. Two suspects robbed a man there at gunpoint.

Then, on Tuesday, December 26, the same two suspects robbed an elderly man in the common area of an apartment building in the 600 block of St. Louis Avenue. The 73-year-old victim had been approached by the suspects, who pushed him to the ground and robbed him at gunpoint.

One of the suspects, identified as a 17-year-old male, was taken into custody and lodged in the Juvenile Detention Center. The second suspect was identified as Curtez Woods, 22, of Rockford. He remains at large.

Woods faces two counts of armed robbery.
