Texas students to be required to learn cursive writing

Cursive writing will soon make a comeback in Texas schools.

The Houston Chronicle reports that elementary students in Texas will be required to learn cursive writing beginning next year.

Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for language arts will require second-grade students to write legibly  in cursive writing by fifth-grade. l

Fewer students have been using cursive writing following the increased use of computers and tablets.
